Best/cheapest way to fly to Guatemala City from Phoenix?
I'm a college student who just visited some relatives in the Atitlan region in October and I've just convinced my sister (who will be a junior in HS) to go back with me, probably during our spring break in March. We live in Phoenix and when I went in the fall I flew to Dallas and then from there to Guatemala on American Airlines. But it cost me like $600 for the trip. I'm wondering if there is a more efficient way to get there (from LA maybe). I've seen flights in the $400 range that stop in Mexico City and I'm totally comfortable with that but my mother isn't so sure it's safe, especially for 2 young women. Any recommendations or experiences? I would like to fly to Aurora again, I have family in San Lucas that can pick us up and they didn't recommend any other airports, plus I know that airport is safe from experience.

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

why don't you try expedia it can help you look at cheap flights. I think it will be cheaper if you fly from Miami to Guatemala or from some part of the US to El Salvador and then Guatemala.
